Hi everyone! My name is Lawrence Mirafuentes. Born and raised in the Islands of Hawaii, I've developed a creative eye for my surroundings and views of life because of my backyard stomping ground. I've traded the surfboards and the flip flops for mainland living in the Sunshine State, Florida.
During my childhood, I always wanted to be an architect. I had passion for baroque period structures and art. When I was 16 my mother bought me my first digital camera, and the rest is history. I found that I had a knack for the lens and an eye for the subject. I found an outlet to create.

The journey
I started shooting people as subjects when I was 17. I started just for fun and games with friends. Next thing you know within the next couple of months during my junior year I was doing senior portraits for my school. I did more than a hundred that year.
During my senior year, after an extremely photography inspired summer, I was hired by more than 15 local companies to do ads, and spreads for magazines, proms, senior, family and wedding portraits. My first high paying gig was a wedding for the manager of our local Macys for $6500. I was just a kid. I realized there was money to be made and that's when I decided to dedicate my energy into developing my passion.

After studying in London specifically on commercial and fashion photography, I've come a long way from the islands to where I am now. Studying light theory has given me insight as to how photos are translated. I believe photography is created essentially. I've spent hours in studios, on sets, on location and with hundreds of models over the past 13 years, and have found that this is the only thing in my life I can call work, and not feel it is so.
